Tôm rửa sạch, bóc vỏ, bỏ đầu, chẻ sống lưng, bỏ chỉ đen. Có thể bỏ hoặc giữ đuôi đều được. Trong 1 cái tô vừa, cho gừng, dầu mè, tỏi băm, mật ong, nước tương, bột ớt và tiêu trắng trộn đều, sau đó cho 1/3 hỗn hợp sốt vào tôm, trộn đều, để trong tủ lạnh ướp trong 15 phút cho thấm gia vị.
Bắc 1 cái chảo lên bếp, đun sôi dầu dừa, khi dầu sôi, bạn cho tôm vào xào săn. Cho phần còn lại của hỗn hợp sốt vào xào chung với tôm, để lửa vừa và liên tục đảo tôm cho nước sốt đặc lại và bám đều quanh tôm.
Dọn tôm rim tỏi mật ong ăn cùng rau cải luộc và cơm trắng là ngon đúng bài luôn. Món này vừa đơn giản vừa dễ làm, nhất là những ngày trời mưa thì chỉ cần chén cơm nóng và một chảo tôm rim vậy thì còn gì bằng.
